Propose a structured, clear, and pragmatic plan (this demonstrates leadership and vision):
Days 0–30 — Assessment and Prioritization
• Review existing DR documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and vendor contracts.
• Conduct a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) / update the inventory of critical assets (applications, plant processes, cloud/OT dependencies).
• Meet with stakeholders: IT, manufacturing site managers, facilities, and BC/ER teams.
Days 31–90 — Planning and Initial Testing
• Define RTO/RPO targets for each critical service with stakeholders.
• Prioritize gaps and develop a mitigation roadmap (quick wins: automated backups, network/power redundancies).
• Design and execute the first tabletop DR test and/or controlled recovery test (document findings).
Days 91–180 — Implementation and Governance
• Implement improvements (replication, runbook automation, SLA agreements with vendors). • Launch an exercise calendar (annual, semi-annual, quarterly depending on criticality) and formal reporting to IT leadership.
• Establish metrics, an executive dashboard, and an internal audit program.
